The HERO3: Silver Edition is compatible with all GoPro mounting accessories and older generation BacPacs™ along with the newer generation LCD Touch BacPac and 2nd generation Battery BacPac. However, as all HERO3 cameras have a new size and shape and are not compatible with HERO2 housings.

Why don't we stock the Hero 3 Black Edition?

We know you want it. We want to sell it. But Go Pro SA states that we do not qualify as a "specialist" dealer. You see unlike other "specialist" dealers like CapeUnionMart, Sportsmans Warehouse, etc. - we do not have a stand alone shop for the general public to walk into and buy skydive gear (because we all know that's how you buy your gear, you walk down to the local mall, don't you???). The fact that we're more active in the skydiving community than any of these other "specialists" doesn't matter, the fact that we're on the dropzone on the weekends with stock available, does not count. No, according to Go Pro SA we're a website business and therefore cannot sell the Hero 3 Black Edition, but they've assured me that if a open a brick and mortar store, so I can "better" serve the public, then they will allow me to sell the Black Edition - but I won't do this because if I do the prices of everything will have to go up and the goal of keeping prices at US Retail + VAT will not be achieved. I'm still trying to get them to change their mind, and their attitudes towards our niche market which has done more to build their brand than any other whuffo would, I'll keep you posted if this happens. In the meantime if you'd like to show your support, please send a mail to Go Pro SA and tell them that you would rather buy from a real specialist dealer like myself, than the current "specialists" in the country.
